This port wine river cruise in Porto is a shared 2-hour boat trip on the Douro, run by Sailing360_Douro from R. da Praia 430 in Vila Nova de Gaia. The ticket costs $62 per person, with a $51 deal price also shown, and includes tastings of 4 port wines poured by a certified crew. About This Tour
Sailing360_Douro runs a shared boat from the Gaia side of the Douro, sailing past Afurada, under the Arrábida and Dom Luís I bridges and upstream as far as the Freixo bridge and the Palace of Freixo before turning back. Four port wines are poured while a certified crew narrates the city, its bridges and the history of port wine. The boat has an outside deck and an indoor area, so you can stay warm if the river breeze picks up.
Two timetables exist, an afternoon departure and a sunset departure. The listing does not fix the clock times on the page, so check availability for the day you want. Food and drinks are not allowed on board and there is no stop at any lodge. The tour returns to the same pier it leaves from at R. da Praia 430.

What the Day Is Really Like
The listing gives the stop list but no clock times, so the sequence below follows its itinerary and the two stated timetables.
Meeting and Boarding
You meet at R. da Praia 430, 4400-354 Vila Nova de Gaia, which is also where the boat returns. Arrive with time to spare, since one reviewer found the walk from the parking to the pier strenuous, so check the route from wherever you leave the car before setting off. The ticket is on your phone, no printing needed.
Bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a jacket and comfortable clothes.
Downstream to Afurada and the Arrábida Bridge
The boat leaves the Gaia quay and heads toward São Pedro da Afurada, the fishing quarter, then under the Arrábida Bridge. The cruise continues past the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal and the Alfandega on the Porto side. Tastings of the 4 port wines happen along this stretch, with the crew talking about the city, the bridges and port wine traditions as you sip.
Back Through Cais de Gaia and Under the Dom Luís I
The route returns along the riverfront at Cais de Gaia and passes under the Dom Luís I Bridge, the 1886 iron arch that links the two banks. The Ponte do Infante, the Ponte Maria Pia and the Ponte de São João follow on the upstream run.
Upstream Turn and the Return
The last landmarks are the Freixo Bridge and the Palace of Freixo, after which the boat turns back past the Ribeira and the Sé on the Porto side. You arrive back at R. da Praia 430, 2 hours after setting out. On the sunset departure the same route plays out under different light, with the sky colours reflected in the water.
The listing recommends bringing a jacket.
Who This Tour Rules Out
This cruise suits travelers who want port and scenery on the water. It rules out several groups, and each exclusion has a better-matched alternative.
Anyone Who Wants to Stand in a Cellar
No port lodge is entered. You drink on the water and never see a barrel. If that is the point of your trip, book the Port Wine Lodges Walking Tour, which enters 3 port houses with 7 tastings and entry tickets included, or a single-lodge visit such as the Cálem cellar tour with its interactive museum.
Travelers with Mobility Impairments
The listing states the tour is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. The pier access involves a walk, and one reviewer called the stretch from the parking strenuous. Ask the operator about access before booking.
The self-guided Taylor's cellars tour comes with an audio guide in 13 languages.
People Who Need a Set Group Size or Hotel Pickup
The boat is shared and the group size is not stated, so you cannot count on a small crowd. There is no guaranteed hotel pickup, only a shuttle available on request. No minimum age is stated, and the cruise pours port, so check with the operator if you bring children.
If a small group matters, the CD Porto Tours cellars walk caps its group at 12.
Anyone Hoping for Food or a Weatherproof Plan
Food and drinks are not allowed on board and nothing is served, so eat first. The departure is on an open boat with an indoor area, and the listing tells you to bring a jacket, which tells you what the breeze can be like. If you want snacks on board, the yacht cruise is a shared yacht for up to 12 and pours Vinho Verde rather than port, or read the wider Porto boat tour comparison before deciding.

Getting There and Adding a Second Lodge
The pier at R. da Praia 430 is in Vila Nova de Gaia. Here is how to reach it from the Porto side and how to add a lodge visit afterwards.
From Ribeira to the Pier
The quickest crossing on foot is the lower deck of the Dom Luís I Bridge, which carries pedestrians along with public transport, and brings you to the Gaia side. The Metro line D crosses the upper deck to Jardim do Morro station, a Z2 single ticket costing €1.40 with a €0.60 Andante card if you need one. From Jardim do Morro you can ride the Gaia Cable Car down to the riverside at Cais de Gaia, at €7 one way for an adult, a ride of about 3 minutes 45 seconds.
- On foot over the lower deck of the Dom Luís I Bridge from Ribeira
- Metro line D to Jardim do Morro, Z2 single €1.40
- Gaia Cable Car from Jardim do Morro down to Cais de Gaia, €7 one way adult
A Lodge to Add the Same Afternoon
The cruise never enters a cellar. Bookable visits from this site's comparison start at $22 for Real Companhia Velha, $25 for Cálem with its interactive museum, $26 for Poças and $26 for Sandeman, and $45 for the guided Graham's lodge tour. Browse the port wine cellars in Porto guide to pick, and check the Vila Nova de Gaia page for how the lodges line up along the quay before you fix your plan.

What Works and What Does Not
This is one listing among several on the site, and it wins on some points and loses on others.
What we genuinely like
- Port tasting is part of the cruise, so you do not pay for a boat and a tasting separately
- Two timetables, an afternoon and a sunset slot, let you pick your light
- An outside deck and an indoor area cover both warm and windy days
- Certified crew with commentary in English, Portuguese and Spanish
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, and reserve now and pay later
- A 4.8 rating from 793 verified bookings on the platform
The honest downsides
- The title says 7 bridges while the highlights say 6, so read both before you book
- No cellar is visited, so you never see where the port in your glass was aged
- No food is served and you cannot bring any on board, and 4 pours on an empty stomach hits hard
- The group size is not stated, so you cannot know how busy the deck will be
- One reviewer found the walk from the parking to the pier strenuous, so plan the last stretch
- The regular price of $62 sits beside a $51 deal price, and the final price varies with date and availability
Who it's NOT for: Not for travelers with mobility impairments, for anyone set on visiting a port lodge, or for groups that need a guaranteed small boat and a fixed pickup.

What Travelers Said
The crew was very pleasant and attentive. The boat is very nice and comfortable. We were treated to a fantastic sunset. You absolutely must do it this way if you come to Porto!
Bruno was a great guide. The tour was really fun. The port wine tasted very good, and the portions were sufficient. We even got blankets when it got chilly. We'd be happy to do it again anytime.
Very friendly staff! We took the tour in English, and everything was easy to understand. On the way there, we were given interesting information about the city and the wine, and on the way back, we could just enjoy the scenery and the wine :)
We had a fabulous experience on this boat tour! We done booked it later on to get to see the sunset on the water which was beautiful. The tour up past the bridges was also superb and spectacular to see the architecture from below. The captain and tour guide was amazing a very experienced captain to make the trip comfortable and enjoyable, he was very knowledgeable about the city and would stop at certain points so we could get pictures. He also was very good with English and we could understand clearly. The wine tasting was also beautiful to sample locally produced wine. I would strongly recommend booking this tour.
The weather, boat and guide were all perfect! Jonny was a friendly and personable guide, with a great deal of knowledge about Porto and port wine which he communicated in an interesting and engaging manner. And we tasted some delicious port on a very comfortable boat!
